Rainbow swinging
Qigong exercise: “Waving the rainbow”
This small, gentle movement can have a big impact.
The Rainbow Swing exercise combines gentle stretching, breathing, and mindfulness. It works on several levels:
Physically:
· Strengthens the flanks and upper back
· Mobilizes the spine and supports an upright posture
It opens the chest and facilitates breathing and it releases
Tensions
Energetic & mental:
· Activates the flow of Qi and releases blockages in the meridians of
Liver & Gallbladder
· Through conscious breathing it promotes deep relaxation
· Increases general well-being and brings body & mind into
balance
This is how the exercise is carried out in practice:
· the “rainbow” is gently swung from one side to the other –
accompanied by weight shifting and deep abdominal breathing.
A movement that brings lightness , reduces stress and promotes inner clarity .
"Rainbow Swing" is part of a small series of Qigong exercises that specifically strengthen and relieve the back . Even performed on its own—at least three times or for as long as it feels good—the movement has a noticeable effect.
Maybe you'd like to try it today: Imagine you're holding a colorful rainbow in your hands - and letting it swing from side to side above your head.
